Victor Luvale and Titus Kipruto scored the highest points as Kenyatta University (KU) defeated Strathmore University to win handball title at the ongoing 7th edition of Kenya Universities Sports Association played at Moi University Annex Campus.
Just like handball finals, KU and Strathmore will; be facing off in various ball game finals set for Saturday morning at the same venue.
Luvale and Kipruto scored five and four points respectively as KU won 29-20 against Strathmore to see KU win in an all Strathmore vs KU encounters.
Samson Oduor and Murangiri scored identical 3 points to guide Strathmore win silver.
At the semifinals, KU defeated Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) 22-25 while Strathmore, who survived the wrath JKUAT won by a single point of 22-21.
It will another KU vs Strathmore in both men and women volleyball title chase. Strathmore women were 3-0 winners against University of Nairobi (UoN) in straight sets of 22-25, 22-25 and 22-25 while their opponents registered the same score with 15-25, 22-25 and 19-25 over Bomet University College (BUC).
For men, Strathmore defeated Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in five-setter in 25-23, 20-25, 25-16, 14-25 and 10-15 while KU were 3-0 winners over Moi in 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21.
In football, it will be another Strathmore taking on KU at the final. KU defeated Technical University of Kenya (TUK) in the first semifinal 3-0. Brian Okeyo grabbed a brace as Clinton Bill scored a goal to book for the final while Strathmore edged out JKUAT by a solitary goal.
