Iten, Menengai, Kitale, Ayam rule Rift valley school games

Ronald Tuke and Brian Cheruiyot were on target when St Patrick’s Iten silenced the hosts Chebisaas Boys in the last quarter hockey boys at the ongoing Rift Valley Secondary Schools Sports Association at the Chebisaas Boys high school ground.
The victory sailed the Saints to the semifinals set for tomorrow at the same venue against Kamito as former national champions St Antony’s Kitale, who beat Afraha Boys 9-0 will take on Kapsabet Boys who beat Narok Boys 3-0.
In girls’ hockey quarterfinals, former national champions St Joseph’s Kitale of Trans Nzoia beat Tengecha 17-0, Kaptagat 4-1 over Propoi, Nakuru 2-1 over Aldai and Ndururumo beating Moi 1-0.
In rugby 15s, Kericho based Kabianga Boys and Nakeel from Kajiado county were the first teams to qualify into the quarterfinals set for tomorrow at the bUNiversity of Eldoret grounds, the field well known for hosting UOE Trojans, the KRU Championships side.
Kabianga beat Kapsabet from Nandi Cunty 26-0.
The duo will be facing off in the first quarter on Friday morning.
In other result, trans Nzoia based Bwake boys remained unbeaten with victories against Ortum at 42-0, followed by 36-06 over Nakeel.
St Patrick’s Iten of Elgeyo Marakwet dominated their opponents with a slim win of 6-5 against Menengai and 39-0 over Longisa from Bomet County before Menegai outwitting Longisa 50-0.
In handball boys, former champions Saniak from Nandi County beat Gatundia 39-16, Chebotoik were 30-23 winners over Kericho Day from Kericho County as St Joseph’s Kitale played to 31-31 draw against Murinduko before Murinduko beating Katilu 29-22.
Ayam were 23-15 winners over Olobutyo in handball girls as Olubutyo managed to silence Katilu 22-13. AIC Moi Samburu lost 22-15 over Enoomatasian as Rongena thrashed Kiptewit 24-11 before Murinduko humiliated Bindura 34-16.
