St Patrick’s High school Iten dominated rugby 10s at the annual Iten Open tournament player at the their backyard.
Hosts, which had two teams saw team A winning the title following their dominance against Simotwo Boys at the final.
Maxwell Shigali failed to convert Robert Oyare’s try to hand the hosts 5-0 lead before Simmtwo’s Rodgers Kemboi leveled in the second half after capitalizing on double sin bin of Gideon Kimutai and Shigali.
But on return, Kimutai touched down the second try for the Saints as Shigali converted for a 12-05 win.
The winners coach Bernard Indasi said that home ground favoured them hence fielding two teams to understand each player.
“We managed to field two teams in the competition to gauge our players before school games begin,” said Indasi.
He added that playing such tournaments are good because they help prepare the school for school games set to kick off next weekend at the zonal level.
Indasi, who left Simotwo some years back, had managed to play up to the national level in rugby7s.
