Jelagat chasing good time as she lines-up for Boulogne Half marathon

Family Bank half marathon champion Nancy Jelagat will be lining up for Sunday’s Boulogne Half marathon in France chasing overall title as well as good time.

A fortnight after winning Standard Chartered 10km Road race, Jelagat who trains in Iten will be travelling today (November 14th 2019) for the race scheduled for Sunday 17th in the French City.

Apart from winning the 2019 Family bank Half Marathon, Jelagat was the Kisii 10km winner as she sets focus to win with good time.

“My training has been going on well as I plan to register my first win outside Kenya after doing well locally,” said Jelagat.

Jelagat said she will be chasing her personal best time as well as the title following her second finish in Hamburg half marathon, the first outing last year when she clocked 70:18.

“I will be chasing to kill two birds with one stone. Am going to compete, chasing the title and best time in France. I have had good training and my expectations will be answered on Sunday,” said Jelagat who trains under Erick Kogo.

She added that she is in top form ahead of the race and assured that she can not run at a slower pace as she did last year in her major races.

“I have totally improved in my running skills and speed has gone up compared to last year. With such speed, I know I will register good results,” said Jelagat.

She won last year’s title as a beginner but since she will be competing in Boulogne.
