Jericho All Stars were are the winners of the 2018 Super 8 football tournament following their victory against Rongai All Stars in a match played today at Camp Toyoyo in Nairobi.
With two matches ahead, Jericho won the title after thrashing Rongai 7-0 to pocket kshs 500, 000 courtesy of Extreme Sports who have been organizing for the long Nairobi tournament.
With three players: Kelvin Ndung’u, Victor Walerah and Bundu Engo netting a brace and Eddie Otieno scoring one, was enough to seal the victory.
The well-earned victory saw the East Conference side garner an unassailable 64 points atop the 16-team standing from 19 wins and seven draws.
Techniocal University of Kenya (TUK) are contending with Makadara Junior League SA for second place finish, which comes with Sh250, 000, while the third-placed will walk away with Sh100, 000.
By dethroning West Conference side Kawangware United, Jericho becomes the second East Conference side to win the league after Kayole Asubuhi’s success in 2016.
The defeat was a hard landing for Rongai who drop to 11th on 31 points
