Former Africa junior 2,000m steeplechase champion Norah Jeruto will battle for the 10km Valencia Ibercaja race this Sunday in Valencia, Spain.
Jeruto comes to this race with a personal best of 29:51 that she got last years edition and she will have an uphill task as she tries to upset Yehualaw who has been in great shape in recent time. The 22 year-old Ethiopian carries on her shoulder a personal of 31:17 that she got in 2020 at the San Silvestre Vallecana while taking the top honors.
The race organisers have put the two together as they target to attack the women 10k world record of 29:38 that was set by Tokyo Olympics silver medallist in 10,000m race, Kalkidan Gezahegne from Bahrain in October last year.
Jeruto holds the third fastest time in history in 3000m obstacles of 8: 53.65.
Two more Kenyans Gladys Chepkurui who comes to this race with a personal best of 14:29 that she got in October of last year at the 5K Österreichischer Frauenlauf and Diana Chesang will be on the start line ready to roar
