Joseph wins Strokeplay title on waterlogged Thika Greens course

Gymkhana’s Victor Joseph won the Kenya Amateur Strokeplay Golf Championships title that was marred by rain at Thika Greens Golf Resort today.

The Tanzanian, who led in round three of the 72 holes was declared the winner after 54 holes due to waterlogged course.

Following the declaration, Joseph automatically qualified for the 2020 Kenya Open Golf championships after playing one under par 215 stunning defending champion Samuel Njoroge from Kenya railways Club.

Joseph posted one under par 71 in the third round to grab the lead from defending champion Njoroge who carded two over par 74 for a total of 216 gross as Uganda’s Emmanuel Jakisa played three over par 217 to complete the podium.
