Cheers, celebrations, joy and jubilation dominated the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport today when Kenya Pipeline and KCB volleyball teams jetted back from the concluded Africa Women’s Club Championship in Tunisia.
Pipeline, who won silver medal after losing to Zamalek at the finals, was an improvement from last year’s from bronze.
It was disappointing for KCB who failed their title after finishing 5th overall.
The players were welcomed by family and friends who had gathered at the airport to receive the heroes back home.
Pipeline’s duo of Trizah Atuka and Naomi Too were named in the ‘Dream Team’ after leading their side to a first final in almost 10 years. Atuka was named the best middle blocker while Too was named as the best opposite.
