Junior Starlets, the national under 17 women football team has arrived in Tanzania ahead of the CECAFA U17 Women’s Championship.
Kenya will begin their campaign against Sudan tomorrow June 13 before facing Somalia on June 15. The group stage will conclude with an encounter against hosts hosts Tanzania on June 17
Coached by Mildred Cheche, the team is confident to lift the title as part of their preparations for next month’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
Cheche has largely retained the squad that featured in the second round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Uganda, making only four changes.
Kenya is drawn in Group A alongside hosts Tanzania, Somalia and Sudan, while Group B consists of Uganda, South Sudan and Djibouti.
