Kabras Sugar defeated debutants Menengai Oilers to lift the second kenya Cup title in today’s final match played at the Bull Ring in kakamega County.
Making their debut at the finals failed to match against five time finalists sugar millers 34-28 with Jone Kubu was the man of the match.
Oilers had a decent start to the game leading 8-18 at the interval from two tries and booted points by Geoffrey Ominde.
Kubu’s try towards the end of the first half ensured Kabras stay in the game.
With Kubu bringing his kicking game to the second half, hosts Kabras took the lead through Jensen Musoga’s try converted by Kubu who also sliced in back to back three pointers.
Ominde would get Oilers back in it after converting Timothy Okwemba’s try but Kubu once again restored Kabras Sugar’s lead from the tee with two penalties
