Kabras Sugar started the year on a high note beating Kenya Harlequins to win the Sisimka Charity Cup at the Nyayo National stadium.
The Millers outshone Quins after taking the title on 29-10 as a curtain raiser for 2021 Kenya Cup, the top rugby league in the country that kicks off next Weekend across the country.
Despite Harlequins scoring first through a penalty courtesy Evin Asena, Kabras came on gun blazing to mercilessly earn the title as John Kubu went past the try before missing a conversion for a 3-5 lead.
Hilary Odhiambo made the second try as Kubu added the extras for a 12-3 lead for Kabras at water break.
Derrick Ashiundu went past the white wash with Kubu easily converting for a 19-3, Brian Juma added another try as Kubu’s conversion went wide for 24-3 and George Nyambua scored last for Kabras for 29-3 for Kabras before Dennis Muhanji, an elder brother of Johnstone Mungau who played as an opponent scored a try Quins and Evin Asena adding the extras for a 29-10 final score.
