Karanga successfully defends Limuru Open title in Limuru

The reigning Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) champion Michael Karanga successfully defended his Limuru Open title in a three day event that concluded today at the par 72 Limuru golf club.

The Kiambu golfer fired four over par 220 to after collecting identical level par 72 in the twpo rounds on Friday and Saturday before sinking four over par 76 today.

Limuru Open was his second victory after defending the Coronation Trophy last month in Nakuru.

The KAGC leader John Lejirma finished the Limuru event in position T3 on +8 224, leads the park with 525.8 points ahead of Kiambu’s Elvis Muigua’s 346.1 after finishing T8 (224) and Karanga comes up in third after collecting 264 points.

Ugandan Joseph Reagan Akena settled for second position. The Lugazi hills golf club player recorded six over par 222 (70, 77, 75) as three players- John lejirma (Kenya Railways, Tsevi Soni (Sigona) and Elvis Muigua (Kiambu) tied in position three with +8 224.
