KCB beat Nakuru to win Great Rift 10s title in Nakuru

Former Kenya Cup champions KCB RFC stunned hosts Nakuru RFC to win the Great Rift Rugby 10-aside tournament at the Nakuru Athletics Club today.

The bankers were 24-10 winners against Nakuru side when Isaac Njoroge bagged a brace, Festus Shiasi and Emmanuel Opondo tries sealed the victory.

Coached by former Shujaa captain Andrew Amonde, will now focus on the sevens circuit that kicks off next month in Eldoret.

Blak Blad finished third after beating University of Nairobi side Mean machine 17-10 in the playoff match.

Amonde said: “This is an unbelievable fete for us as a team. We came here with an objective to win the competition and everyone in the team has played his part. We are happy for the win; we will celebrate for now before we start preparations for the National Sevens Circuit which is just around the corner”
