KCB, Congo Boys, Assad match into Shield Cup quarters

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Congo Boys and SS Assad progressed into the quarter finals of the Sportpesa Shield Cup following their victories in their matches.

The Kenya Premier League side, the bankers scored four unanswered goals against Vihiga Sportiff in a match played at Machakos stadium.

KCB won the match with goals from Chrispin Onyango who scored a brace, Simon Munala with an on goal from Brian Mukoma.

In other matches, Congo Boys matched into the best 8 with 4-5 in a post match penalty shootout at Wundanyi Stadium, SS Assad won at home 9-8 also in post match spot kicks.

National Super League side Bidco United matched into the best eight without playing after their opponents Dero withdrew from the tournament in a match that was scheduled to be played at Thika stadium.

On Sunday 2017 champions AFC leopards will play Bungoma Super Stars at Bukhungu stadium as Western Stima hosts wazito fc at Moi Stadiu, Kisumu as holders Kariobangi Sharks will host Muranga Seal  at kasarani on Monday before KPL champions Gor mahia play Bandari on Wednesday 10th at Mbaraki.
