Leaders KCB maintained their superlative performance to claim the Embu 7s title after beating their nemesis Kabras Sugar at the finals.
At the same time, Kenya Harlequins Queens were the winners in the women category while the Nairobi University side Mean Machine defeated Northern Suburbs for Division two titles.
KCB recorded their third victory in the series after winning the opening leg of Prinsloo 7s, Kabeberi 7s and Driftwood 7s to maintain their lead in the series on their way to defend the overall title.
Austin Sikutwa converted Vincent Onyala’s try as KCB went ahead 7-0 before Kabras’ Mike Lukusi touched down with a missed conversion from Rayvon Ambale for 7-5 then Emmanuel Opondo crossed over with missing extras for KCB’s 12-05 lead then Griffins unconverted try for Kabras led to 12-10 to deny Kabras a late winner and secured a hard-fought victory.
Mean Machine on the other hand was promoted to Division One following their Divison victory
Mean Machine RFC have officially secured their promotion back to the top division of the National Sevens Circuit after outclassing Northern Suburbs 22-10 in the Division Two cup final at Embu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Eschuma return to Division One after missing out since their last appearance in the top flight, capping off a flawless tournament run with a dominant final performance.
Machine made their intentions clear early, opening the scoring with an unconverted try in the corner to take a 5-0 lead. Duncan Shamala then sliced through the Suburbs defence on a sensational break to stretch the advantage to 10-0.
Eschuma added a converted try shortly before the interval to head into the break with a commanding 17-0 cushion
In Ladies, the Kenya Harlequins Queens were 14-0 winners over Kiambaa Ladies while Machine were 22-1- winners over Suburbs
