KCB wins Christie7s title

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) won Christie sevens, their third title in the sevens series ahead of the final leg in Mombasa next weekend.

The bankers won in the sudden death through Alphas Adunga to  win the title at RFUEA grounds with a 12-07 win over Nakuru.

Nakuru landed first try through Monate Akuei that was converted by Geoffrey Ominde after Geoffrey Okwatch was sin-binned.

On resumption, Okwatch’s converted try by Samuel Asati leveled the score to force the match into sudden death that Adunga won for the bankers who won Dalas and Kakamega titles.

Former champion Impala Saracens won bronze after beating Mwamba 21-14 in the playoffs for third place.

In the semifinals, Nakuru came from behind to beat Saracens 19-14 while KCB were 17-12 winners against Mwamba to reach the final play.

In quarterfinals, Mwamba beat last season champions Homeboyz 14-0 as champions were 31-10 winners against University side Masinde Muliro University 31-10 while Impala beat Nondies 7-5 and Nakuru edged out Menengai Oilers 24-5 in the Cup quarterfinals.
