St. Anthony’s Kitale Boys has been pooled together with Ethiopia in the inaugural Copa Coca Cola under 16 Africa Championships soccer tournament in Nakuru.
The Kitale based school will represent Kenya after winning Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) held in August in Eldoret.
The youngsters defeated St. Peters Mumias in post-match penalties to claim the title held at Hill school, Eldoret.
As the hosts, Kenya is in pool A alongside Ethiopia and Botswana. Kenya will begin the campaign against Ethiopia on Monday 10th before facing Botswana on Wednesday.
The inaugural tournament has attracted 12 boys teams divided in four pools of three while girls registered two teams: Kenya and Zimbabwe.
Moi Girls Nangili will be flying Kenyan flag against Zimbabwe in only one match as the winner will carry the title home.
Pool B Has Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe, Pool C consists of Uganda, Malawi and Mozambique while pool D carries Angola, South Africa and Tanzania.
