It was a bad day in office for Kenyan men’s beach volleyball team after falling to Tanzania in the Zone five Olympic qualifiers in Lido Beach in Entebbe, Uganda.
Kenyan pair of Cornelius Kiplagat and Brian Melly lost to Tanzania pair of David Neeke and Edward Ford 2-0 sets of 21-18 and 21-19 in the opening match.
The win means that Kenya has to beat hosts Uganda on Saturday to see them sail into the second round.
In the second match, Kenya’s Ibrahim Oduor and James Mwaniki defeated Tanzania duo of Ally Shukuru and Alhaji Said 2-0 sets (21-13 and 21-10) to tie the games 1-1 but Kenya lost the match 15-12 latter.
Kenya won against Sudan on Thursday. Top two teams at the end of the event will move to the next round
