Kenyan won their opening Zonal Olympic Beach Volleyball men qualifiers victory as the event served off today at Lido Beach in Entebbe, Uganda.
Kenya’s pair of Brian Melly and Cornelius Kiplagat and that of Ibrahim Oduor and James Mwaniki defeated Muzami Ateya and Mohammed Hamad 2-1 (21-17, 15-21, 17-15) as Oduor and Mwaniki beat Nagi Osman and Badr Momen 2-0 (21-15, 22-20).
Following their victory, Kenya will play tomorrow in their second match in the qualifiers that has attracted four teams including hosts Uganda, Sudan and Tanzania.
The women’s qualifiers are set for January 9-20 in Tanzania
