Kenya kabaddi beat Sri Lanka to face hosts at Bangabadhu International final

Victor Onyango was voted the man of the match when Kenya kabaddi national team defeated Sri Lanka in the semifinals to qualify into the finals of the Bangabadhu Kabaddi International tournament currently happening in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The unbeaten Kenya recorded 49-20 points to win the first semifinal ahead of tomorrow’s final encounter in the second edition of the tournament to face hosts at the finals, the repeat of the 2021 and first edition of the international tournament.

The hosts were 55-35 winners against Iraq in the second semifinal match.

Onyango was an all round player in the match to secure the final match where Kenya will be seeking to revenge over last year’s loss.

Kenya remained unbeaten in the one week long tournament after beating Iraq 54-29 followed by 64-20 against Indonesia, and 65-19 against Nepal.

The Kenyan team is also using this year’s tournament to prepare for the World Cup in December 2022 in Dubai, a competition in which June 2021 they also finished second.
