Kenya Lionesses, the national women basketball team fell to hosts Cameroon in the opening fixtures of Fiba AfroBasket Championship today.
The George Mayienga coached side lost 74-50 to hosts Cameroon in their pool A with 21-17, 18-16, 26-9 and 11-9 in the four quarters.
Kenya will play Cape Verde on Sunday in a must win match to secure their hopes of getting an automatic quarterfinal ticket.
The continental finalists in the 12-nation biennial competition will advance to one of the qualifying tournaments for the 2022 Fiba Women’s Basketball World Cup
