Kenya Lionesses shine over Argentina at Olympic Repechage

Three unconverted tries handed Kenya Lionesses, the national rugby 7s team a semifinal place following their quarterfinal win against Argentina.

The Paul Murunga coached team won 15-12 to storm into semifinal match by booking Czech Republic at 3:46 EAT as they seek an Olympic Games ticket that will be hosted in Paris, France come August 2024.

Grace Odhiambo fired Kenya into the lead with the first unconverted try for a 5-0 lead with Argentina reduced to 6 platers following Conzales sinbin.

Stella Wafula made it 10-0 before break and Judith Okumu touched down for the third try for 15-0 lead. However, the South Americans efforts handed them two quick tries from Mayra Genghini unconverted try and osefina Padellaro’s converted try for a 15-12 final score.

Kenya will face Czech in the semifinals. The later defeated Uganda 22-0 to qualify.

In other semifinal, Poland will take on China. China defeated Paraguay 31-0 in the opening quarterfinal while Poland were 36-0 winners over Hong Kong China.
