Kenya Morans, the national men’s basketball team will be facing off with Gabon at the second edition of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) AfroCan tournament next Month in Luanda, Angola.
Morans will be chasing the good results set in 2019 when they won silver in the continental championships set for July 8th to 16th.
Kenya leads pool A alongside Gabon that is ranked 25th in the continent, seven places below Kenya on the FIBA rankings after coach Cliff Owuor naming his provisional squad last week.
Hosts Angola will face Mali and a team to be awarded a wildcard in group B while Morocco and the winners of Zones One and Five qualifiers will make group C.
Defending champions DR Congo will begin their title defense in group D alongside Mozambique and Cameroon.
AfroCan is the new competition of African national teams directed by FIBA Africa created from the decision to organise the FIBA AfroBasket every four years instead of two years as before.
