Kenya Premier League: AFC claw Wazito in midweek fixture

Whyvonne Isuza and Piston Mutamba scored twice for AFC Leopards and Wazito fc respectively in the midweek Kenya Premier League match played today at Machakos stadium.

With AFC wasting two penalties and celebrating its 54th birthday, Ingwe won the match 3-2 to take maximum points against the newly promoted team.

Victor Majid and Ezekiel Odera all missed their spot kicks in each half to beat ten man Wazito after Brian Ayacko was sent off on 48th minute with second yellow.

The 13 time KPL champions have 13 points, three behind KPL champions Gor Mahia FC.

AFC come from behind to defeat Wazito. Mutamba opened the score for Wazito before Isuza equalized for Ingwe for one all draw at the break.

Odera failed to convert a penalty on 15th minute after he was fouled but his shot was saved by  Philip Odhiambo but he scored later to level the score.

Isuza headed the ball into an empty net when Odera beat keeper Odhiambo but Mutamba restored parity, coming to the end of a swift counter attack.

Wazito David Oswe brought down Nabwire inside the box with referee George Mwai awarding a penalty but keeper Odhiambo saved it.

But Isuza wiped away Ingwe’s blushes when he struck low inside the box.
