Kenya Prisons, KCB, Kenya Pipeline match into Women African Volleyball Club Championships quarterfinals

Kenya Commercial bank (KCB), Kenya Prisons and Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) have all qualified to play in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Women African Volleyball Club Championships in Abuja, Nigeria.

The bankers edged out host Nigeria Customs Services in straight sets of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-17.

With the victory, the Japeth Munala coached side will now take on defending Champions Zamalek in the Quarter finals.

Zamalek defeated Descartes of Ivory Coast 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-15) to book the Kenyan side as the seek to defend their title.

Kenya champions Kenya Prisons matched into the best eight following their hard fought 3-2 win over Rwanda National Police in an electrifying five-set thriller25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 21-25 and 15-10.

The Josp Barasa coached side will now take on Egyptian giants Al Ahly who suffocated Cameroonian side Mayo Kano Evolution in straight sets of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-15.

In another match, CAVB Zone V Club Champions APR were 3-1 (25-18, 25-13, 22-25 and 25-17) winners over DRC’s VC La Loi.

With the victory, APR will now take on Kenya Pipeline in the quarter-finals in a revenge mission after APR beat KPC 3-1 win in CAVB Zone V Club Championship in Kampala, Uganda.

The final quarterfinal will be between double champions CFC of Tunisia who stunned Sococim of Senegal 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-20).

As the first team to qualify into the quarterfinals, Carthage booked Cameroonian Litto who defeated Chiefs of Naval of Nigeria 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-17).
