Kenya women shine over Zambia at Hockey Africa Cup of nations

Kenya women’s hockey team registered their opening win against Zambia in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Accra, Ghana.

Following their 3-0 victory, Kenya has sailed to the semifinals where Aurelia Opondo, Flavia Mutiva and Grace Bwire were on target.

This was a reprive for Kenya who failed to play against hosts Ghana in the opening fixture after filing to travel on time and the hosts were rewarded with thee points on Monday.

The quartet were part of Team Kenya for the 2019 Olympic qualifiers in South Africa. Kenya’s new-look squad has a bright future with the team needing exposure for the juniors to fulfill their potential.
