Kenyans Akoth, Akinyi, Wanjiru and Teresia in action at IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships

Four Kenyans will be in action at the ongoing IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Istanbul today.

The four are flyweight Ann Wanjiru, featherweight Beatrice Akoth, middleweight Elizabeth Akinyi and promising light-welter Teresia Wanjiru.

Experienced Wanjiru, the gold medalist in Zone 3 tournament who will face Italy’s 2019 European Games silver medallist Assunta Canfora.

Wanjiru meets Ukraine’s Tetiana Kob, Akoth fights Brazil’s Jucielen Romeu and Akinyi, a bronze medallist in the 2017 Africa Boxing Championships, has a date with Ukraine’s Karolina Makhno.
