Joshua Kipkorir and Priscah Cherono defended their Singapore Marathon titles held today.
Kipkorir won the title in 2:19.13 to defend men’s title while Cherono won with a course record of 2:28.53.
The 25-year-old defeated Solomon Munyo Mutai of Uganda (2:19:46) and Kenyan born turned Bahraini Benson Seurei to third in 2:20:25.
Cherono ended the thirteen year long wait to lower the previous mark of 2:31:55 set by her compatriot Salina Kosgei in 2006
Cherono led a 1-2 podium finish for Kenya as Stella Jepng’Etich Barsosio was second in 2:30:18 while Alemnesh Guta of Australia (2:37:03) rounded off the podium places.
