Kenya’s Harambee Stars lon wait to beat Eritrea continued today when they played to a draw in the opening match of the Africa Cup of nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the Nyayo National Stadium in nairobi, Kenya.
The Benni McCathy coached side playing at home, came from a goal down to draw at 1-1 at the final whistle to extend Kenya’s winless stunt against Eritrea to 23 years.
Ryan Ogam scored in the 87th minute to back the single point, canceling out Nahom Girmai’s 36th minute goal.
The last time Kenya beat Eritrea was in 2003 during the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, winning 3-1 in Sudan.
