Kenya’s Harambee Stars has departed to Burundi today ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Burundi and Ivory Coast.
The Benni McCarthy side will be facing off with Burundi on Thursday October 9 in Bujumbura before taking on Ivory Coast on Tuesday October 14th in Abidjan.
Captain Michael Olunga is optimism that basing on the teams preparation and fighting spirit are ready to come home with away victory.
The coach noted that the technical team has analyzed their previous encounter with Burundi and made tactical adjustments. He clarified that this is not a revenge mission but a chance for the players to showcase their talent and national pride.
McCarthy also confirmed the arrival of most squad members, including new call-up Vincent Harper, who fans are eager to see in action. He revealed minor injury concerns but remains confident all players will be fit for match day
