Zainabu Rutto won her first tournament-Kerkeng Enterprise Golf, sponsored by Lake Bogoria SPA and Resort today after she was elected as the Lady Captain of Kitale club.

As the New year opener on the par 73 golf course, Rutto has good plans for her career as she struggled with the first greens due to dry spell currently affecting north rift region.
The handicap 28 golfer garnered 67 net to claim the title in the congested field.

“The day was cool compared to the last days where they were too hot. But there were challenges especially with running greens resulting in poor putting,” said Rutto.
She added that she will try to put her name on the winners’ list again since the year has started well.
She started badly with a double bogey on the opening hole par five, four back to back bogeys and a pair of pars to seal the front nine with 49 Gross before returning with three pars in the back nine to score 46 gross.
“This is my year despite being the captain, I have the responsibility to play good golf,” added Rutoo.
Handicap 29 golfer jane Limo was the second overall winner with 69 net. Phylis Kisuna beat Fernando Tuiyot and captain Fandi Shiyuka on count back to finish third, fourth and fifth respectively.
M.C Yator and Phylis Kisuna were the winners of longest drive men and women respectively before Philip Shiharsy who recorded the lowest gross of 74 was the nearest to the pin prize.
First nine winner was John Kiplagat with 34 points as Rutto backed another prize of first nine prize with 31 points.
