Kevin Oduor, the hero as Nairobi United beat Etoile to qualify into CAF Confederation Cup group stage

FKF Cup champions Nairobi United made history as the first Kenyan team to qualify into the CAF Confederation Cup group stages after outstaging Etoile Sportive de Sahel in a match played in Tunisia.

In the second leg of the qualifiers, goalkeeper Kevin Oduor was the hero of the match after saving penalties following a draw in aggregate score.

The National Super League champions managed to win 7-6 on post-match penalties to seal a historic spot in the group stages.

At home, Nairobi United won 2-0 in the first then Etoile scored the similar score in the return leg to force the match into spot kicks with Oduor saving a penalty to hand Nairobi the much coveted place.

Oduor saved Etoile captain Nahim Nhid, which was the first spot kick, parrying the ball onto the bar to hand the initiative to his teammates.
