Kiambu County Assembly football team started on a high after thrashing Embu in the opening day of County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA) that kicked off today in Eldoret.

Gideon Gachara netted a brace as Francis Ndugu was on target for Kiambu to see-off Embu 3-0 in a one sided match played at The Eldoret National Polytechnic ground.
Gachara started left foot shot in the 7th minute gave Kiambu, one of the biggest counties in the country the lead before netting his brace six minutes latter to lead 2-0 up into break.
On resumption, Ndung’u netted his goal to seal the victory to lead pool A.
In the earlier match, Embu played out to a one all draw against Samburu at the same venue.
Selesio Gitonga scored first for Embu in the 13th minute but Haron Lelenguya equalized in the second half in the 35th minute to give Samburu a point.
In volleyball, hosts Uasin Gishu dominated the championships as they seek to defend overall title. For both men and women, the hosts took advantage of Home ground to shine.
In women, Uasin Gishu defeated Narok in straight sets of 25-22 and 25-22 to take control of pool A.
But luck went to Kakamega and Kitui who became the first teams to make it to the quarterfinals with Kakamega beating Kitui in straight sets of 25-16 and 25-10.
When the Senate failed to turn up, the two teams played against each other as they all qualified in pool E.
In other women results Kericho trounced Vihiga 2-0 (25-09 and 25-08), Samburu 0-2 Makueni (29-27, 25-20), Migori 2-0 Nairobi (25-15 and 25-18).
As women shone, their male counterparts proved so good for Kiambu 2-0 in 25-12 and 25-20. Siaya defeated Kajiado 2-0 (9-25, 19-25), Lakipia 0-2 (17-25, 21-25) to Nakuru, Migori 2-0 Nyamira 2-0 25-12 and 25-16 as Baringo beat Kirinyaga 2-0 (25-23 and 25-12).
