Kibet, Kiprono, Alamisi lead in under 20 podium sweep at World Cross Country in USA

It was a classic show for Kenyan after dominating the men’s under 20, sweeping the podium at the World Cross Country championships in Tallahassee in the USA.

Frankline Kibet won the title, defending the 8km gold medal won by Samuel Kibathi (22:40) beating Ethiopian Mezgebu Sime (22:41) with Kenyan Matthew Kipkoech Kipruto (22:46) settling for bronze.

But it was good news on the course when Kibet won the first gold for the nation when he won the title in 23:18 leading Emmanuel Kiproono to second after clocking 23:20 and Andrew Kiptoo Alamisi for third in 23:28 an all Kenyan podium sweep. Another Kenyan Andrew Kiptoo came 4th in 23:42.
