Olympic Games 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist Benjamin Kigen lived his expectations winning the water and barriers race at the Paris Diamond League ran toady in Paris, France.
Kigen won the race after Olympic champions Soufiane El Bakkali and former champion Conseslus Kipruto bowed out of the race leaving Kigen to lead Kenyans to a podium sweep.
The African champion Kigen led 1-2-3 podium sweep when he Commonwealth Games 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist was second and former wrld under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion Leopnard Bett was third in 8:09.35 and 8:10.21 respectively.
Ethiopia’s Getnet Wale finished in fourth place in 8:13.31 while Hillary Bor from the United States finished a distant ninth in 8:21.02.
