Newcomers Ronald Kimeli Kurgat and Gladys Chemutai were the winners of today’s Standard Chartered marathon held this morning in the Kenya’s Capital, Nairobi.
It was also victory for Vincent Mutai and Caroline Oilabra who reigned supreme in the half marathon for men and women.
In the 42km distance, Kurgat won the title in 2:13:13 ahead of Peter kwemoi Ndorobo who was second at 2:13:14.
In women, Chemutai won the title in 2:31:52 ahead of Caroline Koech and Joy Kemuma who clocked 2:35:00 and 2:36:06.
Mutai won the men’s 21km at 1:03:27 ahead of Keyborn Obato and Silas Chepkwony who clocked 1:03:34 and 1:03:51 respectively.
Olbara claimed the women’s 21km distance in 1:11:06 ahead of Gladys Koech and Esther Chemutai who timed 1:12:10 and 1:12:12.
