Former Kigali peace marathon silver medalist Shadrack Kimining and half marathon specialist Beatrice Cheserek will fly the Kenyan flag at this Sunday’s Cardiff Half Marathon in Great Britain.
Kimining, who has been dominating in major half marathons, is the best capped runner at the race having a personal best of 59:27 set during the Aramco Houston Half marathon in the United States of America in 2020.
The former Goteborgsvarvet half marathon champion will lead other top Kenyans Geoffrey Koech who has 59:36, Bernard Biwott with 59:44 and Wesley Kimutai at 59:47 among other top athletes in the former colonial masters’ land.
Cheserek, who has socialized in the 21km distance, will be facing a stiff competition from Ethiopians duo of Mestawut Fikir and Betelihem Afenigus as well as Kenyan Viola Chepng’eno.
Lying third in the ranking with 66:48, Fikir and Afenigus enjoy top positions in 66:44 and 66:46 respectively while Chepngeno is least rated at 66:48.
