Former Kitale captain Michael Ndiwa Kimutai carded 66 nett to lead round one of the second leg of Kenya Seed Golf series that teed off today on 18 hole Kitale Golf club.
Home player fired 82 gross, will enter into the second and final round on Sunday with shoulders high in the 36 hole tournament, on his way to drive a heifer back home.
Playing off handicap 16, Kimutai carded identical 41 gross in each nine to secure the lead ahead of tomorrow’s win.
He fired back to back pars on 1 and 2, dropped one in 3, recovered with a par in 4 double bogeyed in 5th followed with back to back pars in the 6th, 7th and 8th and ended the first nine with a bogey.
On resumption, the leader parred in the 10th par 5, dropped one in 11th and 12th, recovered with a par in 13th and 14th bogeyed in 15th and 16th fired a par in the 17th and closed the day with a bogey with hopes of maintaining the tempo for Sunday final to drive home a heifer.
“I want to drive home this heifer which is very prestigious,” said Kimutai
