Three time world 1,500m champion Asbel Kiprop is set to return into action when his ban will come to an end tonight at 12:00am after serving four years when Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) banned him in 2018.
The 2008 Olympic Games 1,500m champion on his facebok page wrote: “As four year false doping ban slapped on me come to an end,, I want to thank God for everything. I also want to thank my immediate family for being that last hope.”
“Not forgetting my employer, the national Police Service for general support and understanding when I was depressed due to that false doping ban.”
“I wish to equally thank the local and international media who tried to understand the situation and all friends and fans who gave me benefit of doubt when I tried in vain to protest my innocence.”
“to those who lived in doubt, it is regrettable the situation that not only defiled your trust, it equally robbed my career a leaving scar on my integrity.”
