2017 Standard Chartered marathon champion Brimin Kipkorir reclaimed his title while 2015 Half Marathon champion Purity Changwony Jebichii were the winners of the 17th edition of Standard Chartered marathon held on Sunday 27th in Nairobi, Kenya.
Kipkorir edged out Steven Kipchirchir to win the title after taking off in the 35km to reclaim the title in 2:10.42.
Kipkorir’s win makes him the first runner to win the title twice and Kipchirchir was second in 2:11:53 followed by Victor Serem who clocked 2:12:00.
In women cahse, Changwony won the title in 2:30:33 ahead of Chemtai Rionotukei to second place in 2:33:03 as Shelmith Muriuki timed 2:34:39 for third.
In the 21km, Andrew Kwemoi and Sheila Chepkirui were the winners.
Kwemoi won the half marathon title in 61:51 ahead of Kiprono Koech and Edmond Kipng’etich to second and third places in 1:02:01 and 1:02:06 respectively.
In women, Chepkirui defeated Deborah Samum
Daniel Simiu and Nancy Jelegat were 10km winners in men and women respectively.
