Kiplagat and Cheserek win Nandi Koitaleel 15km road race title

Amos kiplagat and Beatrice cheserek are the winners of Nandi koitalel 15km road race in Nandi County yesterday.

 The race that started from Eliud kipchoge training complex in kapsabet town and ended in Nandi hills with the theme End based violence in sports.

 Cheserek clocked 49.00 to clinch the title ahead of Jackline chelal timing 50.20.10,followed in third Gladys chepkirui to close the podium clocking 51.03.10.

 “The race was not hard but just to persevere, I thank my coach Bii, Asics management,” said cheserek who trains in Iten.

 Recently Cheserek ran in Nakuru city 21km but she was not lucky as she was placed position six.” Am happy I have improved my position today.” Added cheserek

In men category Kiplagat ruled the roost timing 43.43.77 ,followed in second by Samuel Naibei clocking 44.05.85,while Hillary Kipkoech came in third to finish the top three clocking 44.12.15.

 Kiplagat used his familiarity of the course because it was his training base to win the race.

 “The race started on a high pace but that did not worry me because I knew there is an uphill on the course so I maintained my pace and conserved energy reaching the hill I was able outwit everyone.” Said Kiplagat who was placed fourth last month in Madrid marathon. 

Kiplagat will continue training as he waits for his manager to five him another race sooner or later
