Kenyans Brenda Kiprono and Ezekiel Koech were the winners of the 19th edition of Linz Marathon held yesterday in Austria.
Kiprono won the women’s race with the course record of 2:30.27, from the previous record of 2:30.45 set by Lisa-Christina Stublic in 2011.
As her personal best time, the 24 year old defeated Urge Diro Soboka from Ethiopia to second in 2:34.47 with Kenyan Gladys Chemutai completing the podium in 2:38.14.
Koech won the men’s title in 2:09.43 ahead of Ethiopian Masresha bere Bisetegn (2:11.00) and Kenyan Jonathan Kiptoo clocing the podium in 2:13.33.
