Kenyans Reuben Kiprop Kipyego and Daisy Cherotich were top Kenyans at today’s Rotterdam marathon in a race won by Netherlands Abdi Nageeye and Ethiopian Haven Hailu.
Kipyego finished third (2:05.12) in the men’s race won by Nageeye who became the first Dutch to win the title in 2:04.56 and Ethiopian Leul Gebreselassie coming second after timing 2;04.56.
Belgium international Bashir Abdi was 4th timing 2:05.23 with another Kenyan Kenneth Kipkemoi, who is returning from a ban coming in 5th failing to reclaim the title he last won in 2018.
In women, Kenya’s Cherotich was the best finishing in the 8th position when she clocked 2:30.42 in a race won by Ethiopian Hailu in 2:22.01 ahead of Netherlands Nienke Brinkman (2:22.51) and Kakhstan’s Zhanna Mamazhanova in 2:26.54.
