Double Olympic Games 1,500m champion Faith Kipyegon won the Rome/Florence Diamond League held today in Italy.
The world champion clocked 3:49.11 for the title ahead of Great Britain’s Laura Muir in 3:57.09 and Australian Jessica Hall was third at 3:57.29.
Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala lost his second race to American Fred Kerley.
The African 100m record holder finished second in 10.05 behind Kerley’s 9.94 for the title and American Trayvon Bromell at 10.09.
In other races, Jackline Jepkoech (9:04.07) was second behind Ethiopian Sembo Almayew (9:00.71) and and Ethiopian Zerfe Wondemagegn (9:04.61) in 3,000m steeplechase race.
Another Kenya world 3,000m steeplechase record holder Beatrice Chepkeoch was 5th at 9:10.02.
World 5,000m silver medalist Jacob Krop finished 10th in the 5,000m.
