Kirui set to dance at Valencia marathon

Two time world marathon champion Abel Kirui will be facing off for the first time at the Valencia Marathon set for 6th December 2020 in Spain.

Kirui, who was to compete at the Amsterdam marathon that was cancelled due to the pandemic has set his goals high to secure a good position when that date comes his way.

Kirui, who won the world marathon title in 2009 and defended the title in 2011 said he had had good preparations when he entered his name at the event.

“We have been crying that there are no races across the world as athletes but it has come our way and I have to do my best to ensure that I get to the podium,” said Kirui.

The former London and Chicago marathon winner has dominated road running and his late entry into the show said it will secure him good time.

“This will be the battle for the greats. All athletes heading to Valencia are ready and that shows the race will be tough and tough. Expect fireworks at the finish line,” explained the former Olympic Games marathon silver medalist.
