Kisumu Court has released Ugandan man who was arrested for match-fixing allegations.
Kisumu’s Senior Resident magistrate Winfrida Onkunya released Ronald Mugisha, aka Ronnie after his accuser failed to show up in court.
Mugisha was arrested last month for allegedly set to fix a Kenyan Premier League match involving Western Stima and KCB that was played at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
Following his arrest, Sports cabinet secretary Amina Mohammed said they will deal with match-fixing the same way they are dealing with doping in the country.
She said the system derails sports development in the country and killing the spirit of young people in sports.
