Kenya Cup side Kisumu RFC has protested their rematch against compatriots Blak Blad as directed by the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) leagues and fixtures committee.
Kisumu RFC’s secretary Jaycox Mwavali on Wednesday said: “We have not received any signed minutes or ruling on the judicial hearing. We have not received any formal communication from the union so we treat that as rumours. There are stipulated rules and guidelines on how such decisions should be made”
“Even though we have not received the ruling, we are going to appeal against what we have seen on social media as per laid down regulations,” added Mwavali.
The game was abandoned on January 13 at Kisumu National Polytechnic due to crowd trouble, forcing the referee to call off the game.
The union ordered that the game which was abandoned at Kisumu National Polytechnic be played at Nakuru Athletics Club or Nakuru ASK showground.
Kisumu was ordered to bear the host match burden including pitch procurement, pitch marking, match venue, teams and match officials security, match day medical and evacuation needs among others as guided by the KRU regulations.
