Top golfers are expected to compete at this year’s Kitale club Captain’s Prize golf tournament this Saturday.
The tournament will mark the end of Patrice Tomno’s reign as club’s captain after serving for a period of one year after taking over from Fandi Shiyukah in 2018.
With Tomno’s exit, the post has attracted two golfers- Solomon Kariuki and Niram Shah who will be battling for the post through majority voting after the tournament on Saturday.
Tomno has expressed his joy that his term in office has been successful and hopes to relinquish the post peacefully as he plans to venture into other business.
“I can’t defend my title since I have served the club well. I don’t want to stay in office for long. My term has come to an end and I believe what I have done is good enough,” said Tomno.
Tomno said he will be expecting many captains to grace the occasion especially from North Rift now that there are no many tournaments in various clubs.
“Apart from captains from various clubs, I am also expecting a large turn out now that there are no other golf tournaments in the region. I am expecting many golfers to compete for the title,” added Tomno.
Eldoret captain jack Tuwei will lead other captains for the tournament among other Eldoret golfers while Kimutai Kenduiwo will lead Nandi Bears team.
