Kooli and Kerubo to captain team Kenya at World Indoor Masters Championships

Bungoma County Commander Francis Emalach Kooli will captain a twenty three member of athletes and five officials as Kenya make their debut at year’s World Indoor Masters Championships set for March 24-April 1 in Torun, Poland.

The team that is expected to leave the country on Tuesday evening for the Polish City promising top medals will be deputized by Rebecca Kerubo

Head of delegation Rose Tata Muya said the senior athletes will experience the same challenge because there are no such facilities in Kenya for training and competition.

“As we debut in these indoor championships, we are determined to ensure that we come home with many medals. The athletes are well prepared for the challenges ahead. As much as it will be their first time, expect good results from them,” said Tata.

She said that the senior athletes may face the indoor challenge but the officials have taken time to train them on the new rules of indoor events.

“We have to teach these athletes the rules of indoor competitions. We are exactly doing that to ensure that they understand the rules and get into the competition well prepared,” said Tata.
