Reigning World Athletics 800m champion and reigning silver medalist Ferguson Rotich have been bundled out of the ongoing World Athletics championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Former world under 20 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Alexander Ng’eno Kipngetich qualifed to compete in the semifinals set for Thursday afternoon.
Competing in heat 1, Wanyonyi won his heat in 1:44.92 while heat 3 victory went to Kipng;etich in 1:47.63.
However, Rotich and Korir, who were the race favourites failed to rise to the occassion in the two lap race when Rotich finished 6th in heat 4 clocking 1:46.53 while Korir was 4th in heat 5 at 1:46.78
